Imperial Beach has a small-town, working-class beach culture that is increasingly rare in Southern California — unpretentious, community-oriented, and genuinely local in a way that more expensive coastal communities have largely lost. The pier, the beach, the annual US Open Sandcastle Competition, and the proximity to the Tijuana Estuary nature preserve give the community a distinct character and a real sense of place.

The Silver Strand corridor connects the community to Coronado and the broader South Bay. For buyers who work in the South Bay employment corridor or downtown San Diego, the commute is manageable.
